Electronic visa obtainable entirely online without needing to visit any diplomatic post
The Vietnamese authorities introduced the electronic visa system in February 2017. Since then, Vietnam has been much more accessible for some travelers as all the visa formalities may be handled via the Internet.
An applicant from one of the Vietnam e-Visa eligible countries must only submit an online application form at least 5 business days in advance of the planned trip. Once approved, the e-Visa confirmation is delivered to the email inbox.
Thanks to the introduction of the electronic system of visa application, eligible travelers do not need to bother themselves with booking Embassy appointments or even leaving home to handle the visa application process.
There is only one type of visa to Vietnam, which is a one-entry permit allowing a 30-day stay. Its holder may use the e-Visa for the following purposes:
